This threw my ideas into a black hole, but then I began to not believe the writers interview and wondered what year the show took place...I'm sure I missed that part...and it was told kinda recent, 2002 or 03.<br /><br />So I wondered if the story might be related to what happened in the mid-late 1970s, the US went through a big deinstitutionalization movement of mental health. This was basicaly a closure of almost all large state mental health hospitals. The reason was many patients had become "LOST" in the system and....had become institutionalized as a result. Twas a big ol' scandal...makes me wonder if the show is somehow going off of that idea?<br /><br />God..I could go on forever with this...plus I'm midway on season 2...haven't seen 3...and i've started Lost 4 sense the beginning...so, I'm sure my idea could be way off beat. I'm sure this is similar to the mental ward falacy the writers pointed out too. Who knows?<br /><br />What do you guys think?
