Ok, this is what I proposed to Sara earlier...of what I think is going on...
So, the writers might have mentioned in an interview that Lost is not based in a mental ward...which a lot of folks invisioned. This threw my ideas into a black hole, but then I began to not believe the writers interview and wondered what year the show took place...I'm sure I missed that part...and it was told kinda recent, 2002 or 03.
So I wondered if the story might be related to what happened in the mid-late 1970s, the US went through a big deinstitutionalization movement of mental health. This was basicaly a closure of almost all large state mental health hospitals. The reason was many patients had become "LOST" in the system and....had become institutionalized as a result. Twas a big ol' scandal...makes me wonder if the show is somehow going off of that idea?
God..I could go on forever with this...plus I'm midway on season 2...haven't seen 3...and i've started Lost 4 sense the beginning...so, I'm sure my idea could be way off beat. I'm sure this is similar to the mental ward falacy the writers pointed out too. Who knows?
What do you guys think? I LOVE THE SHOW...and ALMOST A TRUE FAN!!!!

well.... i've seen maybe one and a half episodes like two years ago..
so i have no idea..
but what you're suggesting makes the show a lot more intriguing. when's it on, anywho?
Yeah, my idea for the show has already changed. haha. It's on Thursday nights...9pm your time..ABC! You will be confused, but it is still enjoyable..i'm having to check out past episodes to kinda understand whats going on.
pugless, lost rules, i haven't even tried to analize it yet, i'm just enjoying the ride. i don't watch it on t.v., i tried, but the comercials almost made me break my tv. which isn't mine, it's our landlords. anyway, i wish you were here and we could all watch lost together. ::sigh:: the page looks awesome!
